Since the last entry there have been further coaching sessions which have been greatly received by those who have attended ~ I think there has even been some improvement to be seen.
The KCDC Spring League is still unfolding with its twist and turns of results. The games have been keenly competitive though some of the scores have looked a little one sided at times which has not always reflected the play.
The Points were played yesterday. Nine members came to do their best to beat their own score from last time; 7 hoping to stop Graeme and Iain running away with the good results. Nine skills were tested with points being gained across the whole range. Iain was the only player to pick up scores in all disciplines though Graeme and Sheila only failed at drawing through the port. Striking would appear to be one of the favourites for all with a total of 33 points scored in this discipline. Draws, guards and 'chip the winner' also gained good points. Many new higher totals were achieved but congratulations go once more to Graeme and Iain who gained 26 and 25 points respectively. Numbers aside everyone seemed to have had a good time. A special thanks must go to Colin Bruce and Ken Walker who agreed to come and help with recording the scores even though it was a rugby international weekend!
There are still ten more events on the KCDC calendar to be played this season so the sliding, sweeping and skipping are not over yet.
