The second game of the week was a KCDC league game - A v C at 8.15pm on Saturday night. 8 ends of play saw Rink A take an early lead of 5 shots only to be passed by one shot by Rink C at the end of the 6th end. End 7 level at 8 - 8! It was all to play for. After a lot of tightly delivered stones (and some wayward) the end was taken by Alan, skip for A ....... finish 10 - 8. Time for a drink and home to change all the clocks to BST!
This week saw KCDC play their second KCT league game. Gill N, Jane, Sheila and Graeme were up against Abercorn, a team with many years of experience. In the first few ends we were already experiencing a heavy defeat of 10 - 0 but by the end of the 7th end we had held things in check with a final score of 14 - 2. In the final ends it was very tight and we were even lying 3 when one of their last stones skilfully reduced us to 1.

A few more weeks have gone by; more coaching and some definite improvements in the slide out are to be seen. Today teams C and D were in competitive action. A couple of subs had been called in but there were no deliberately sabotaged stones sent down the ice. A close match was played resulting in 4 ends each with team C being victorious by only one shot. Well done to all who played.
Next up will be the second KCT league game v Abercorn on 26th October closely followed by KCDC teams A v C on 29th October. Keep an eye on the calendar and emails. Sheila |
